Update: How you can help

In the aftermath of the devastating floods that have impacted our beloved hill country, we want to update you on our ongoing support efforts for the victims. We are truly grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of support we've received. Just this past weekend, your generous donations totaled $600 in addition to a pile of items that were brought in!

If you haven't had a chance to contribute yet, consider joining us in raising funds to support our first responders who are tirelessly working on the front lines. They not only need our appreciation, but also essential supplies that help them continue providing vital assistance during this disaster.

What We Are Doing

CFC is focused on providing immediate relief and ongoing support to the flood victims in our area. We have been working hard to mobilize resources to gather and distribute necessary supplies. However, the needs are constant and growing. With your help, we aim to be a blessing to the first responders so they can access essential items during these tough times and provide items that are urrently needed to the hill country community.

The Updated Needs List

To extend our support effectively, we’ve updated our needs list. Here’s what we are currently seeking:

Hygiene Items

The following hygiene products can greatly improve comfort for individuals trying to rebuild their lives:

  • Toothbrushes and Toothpaste

  • Mouthwash

  • Hairbrushes and Hair Ties

  • Detangling Spray

  • Body Wash, Shampoo, and Conditioner

  • Deodorant

  • Face and Hand Wipes

  • Hand Sanitizer

  • Women’s Sanitary Products

While these items may seem small, they provide a sense of normalcy to individuals who have lost everything.

Clothing and Essentials

We are also in urgent need of clothing and other essential items such as:

  • New or gently used clothing of all sizes

  • New or gently used shoes and socks of all sizes

  • Diapers and Pull-Ups

  • Wipes, Towels, and Blankets

  • Bedding

These items are crucial for those displaced by the floods. For example, families who lost their homes often rely on secondhand clothing, so your donations can help them maintain dignity amid chaos.

Food and Beverages

We are collecting:

  • Pre-packaged snacks

  • Meals

  • Bottled water

Pet Supplies

Let’s not forget about our furry companions. We need contributions of:

  • Dog and cat food

Fundraising for First Responders

In addition to collecting physical items, we are raising funds to purchase gift cards for our first responders. These heroes often work long hours away from their command centers and need meals and refreshments. Your donations will directly support their needs. For example, $50 can provide several meals for a first responder, allowing them to stay focused on the essential work they are doing.

How You Can Participate

You might be asking, “How can I contribute?” There are several simple ways to make an impact:

  1. Make a Donation: Every little bit counts. Whether it's $5 or $50, your financial contributions can add up quickly. Please consider donating. To give: Text the dollar amount and the word STORM to 866-310-1801

    or give online: https://cfcisa.churchcenter.com/giving/to/storm

Every dollar goes directly to impacted families.

  2. Gather Supplies: Check your closets for items on our needs list. Organizing a drive with friends or family can amplify the impact.

  3. Spread the Word: Sharing our needs list and this blog post can help us reach more people. The more awareness we raise, the more relief we can provide.

  4. Volunteer: If you're interested in helping distribute supplies, please get in touch. We need extra hands for logistics. A sign up sheet will be posted shortly https://www.christianfamilychurchsa.com/relief

Thank you!

CFC would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has already stepped up to help. Your support is a testament to the compassion and love of our community.

Every contribution makes a difference, and together we can significantly impact those affected by the floods in our beloved hill country.
